The theme of Sustainable Environment examines the nature and dynamics of interactions between the natural environment and human society. Human activities have generated profound impacts upon the natural and ecological environment. These activities range from the consumption of natural resources (food, water, energy, land, etc.), urban growth, transportation, and so on. Research of Sustainable Environment therefore requires multi-disciplinary collaborations and effective synergism involving researchers from humanities, social sciences, physical and biological sciences, engineering, health and social services. It is hoped that innovative cross-disciplinary and international collaborations could jointly contribute not only fresh theoretical insights into the nature and dynamics of sustainable environment but also impactful findings for better planning and policy making.
